Caroline Lloyd - "Paisajes" (1972) , version for orchestra by Hobart Earle (1982)

New video on Youtube : "Paisajes" ("Landscapes" ) is a seven-movement suite for piano by Caroline Parkhurst Lloyd (1924-1980) , composed in Bogota, Colombia in 1972. The composer’s nephew, Hobart Earle, scored this musical composition for orchestra during his student years at Princeton University in 1982.

This is the recording of the world premiere of the version for orchestra in Odessa, Ukraine on October 29, 2011. Hobart Earle conducts the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra. The names of the Colombian landscapes ( villages and their surroundings ) depicted in the musical composition are :

Tibitó Sesquilé Nemocón Tocancipá Chia: Fonquetá Los Angeles de Sopó The images seen during the video are of the Colombian landscapes depicted in the composition - in addition to several photographs by the Sante Fe, New Mexico photographer T. Harmon Parkhurst (1883-1952) , the composer’s father.
